A part of the foundation – then and now
It started in Copenhagen in 1876 on the fields outside Parken stadium. Now, 150 years later, its legacy forms the foundation of Danish football and F.C. Copenhagen itself.
Kjøbenhavns Boldklub was instrumental in establishing football culture in Denmark and has developed generations of professional players - from early pioneers like Nils Middelboe and Eigil Nielsen to modern internationals such as William Kvist and Thomas Delaney
In 1992, KB and B1903 merged to form F.C. Copenhagen. Today, KB continues to operate as a key talent development environment, forming the pathway into F.C. Copenhagen’s first team and sustaining its legacy across generations.

Kjøbenhavn's Boldklub is Denmark’s oldest football club and the earliest established club outside the British Isles.
KB was founded by local pioneers as interest in sport grew in Copenhagen. The club was based on Blegdamsfælleden outside Parken, where early ball games helped lay the foundation for organised football in Denmark.
Few clubs in world football can trace their origins this far back - and even fewer remain part of a living football ecosystem at the highest level.

The anniversary jersey will be exclusively in action on the pitch for a single match against Vejle in the 3F Superliga on Monday at 7:00 PM in Parken, where the 150 years will be celebrated. We look forward to seeing you!
